Leadership/Organizational Effectiveness

A business is a body unto itself. It’s body parts consist of all the people who are part of the company. The Somatic (the study of the Mind~Body connection) dynamics that apply to an individual also apply to a business, only on a complex level. Depending on the personalities involved, and the number of people that make up the organization, the variables are unlimited.

Once a business has accurately defined where it's at and where it plans on going, it's easier to determine what needs to be done in terms of leadership, relationship, communication and awareness, to effectively get there. Having an awareness of what the business does, or what the job description is, paints one side of the bigger picture. Knowing how your products, services, or job function impacts or relates to others in the marketplace is the other.

Business owners continue striving for better quality professional lives, yet often, they fall short of their business goals or fail. Too many failures develop a fear of moving forward and a defeatist mentality. Knowing the Somatic Mind~Body alignment of your business or department, coupled with an awareness as to what the Soamtics may be for those you do business with or for, is like having the keys to the kingdom.

The neurological sciences (the bodies of study regarding the way the brain functions and processes information) have determined that appropriate language is necessary to perceive anything outside our current field of awareness. Because of this, people often have abilities and potential they are not using.

The science of Somatics (the study of the Mind~Body connection) defines how the mind affects or influences the body. People can use their mind-set and/or internal belief systems in specific ways to enhance performance.

In a paradigm where so many desire to achieve extraordinary accomplishments personally and professionally, it is necessary to develop our physicality so as to enhance mental performance, as well as develop our mentality so as to enhance physical performance.

The Somatics of a Mind~Body connection is a two way street, where each has to support the other for optimal performance. Developing an awareness of one’s own Mind~Body connection is foundational to functional communication, beneficial relationships, and any level of effective leadership.
